So the bad news:
palefenix is looking to duck out of going due to work issues.
The good news: That means there's a space still open. Would someone else out there like to take her space? It's already paid for!
The trip is July 9-12, you would need to be able have the Friday and Monday off work. I can provide transportation (though contributions to gas would be appreciated).
It's an 8 hour drive (plus stops) to Wolcott, NY. We leave on
Friday, and spend the weekend there, going to Sterling Ren Faire at
least 1 day. The past several years, most of the group has done
other things in the region (wineries, zoo, Sodus Bay, etc.) We drive
bak on Monday.
We stay at the Wolcott Hotel. Jim (the owner) and Nikki( the
manager) give us the run of the place. It's a 250+ year old
building, complete with slanting floors and no elevators. It used to
be a roadhouse, and was never a fancy place, but it's quirky in a
fun way, and they love us.
We have the top floor (3rd floor) plus 1 room on the 2nd floor,
totaling 10 rooms. There is overflow in dorm-style rooms on the 2nd
floor if needed. We need at least 20 people to make this a go at the
quoted rate of $75 per person for the weekend.
The rules:
***No drama, no psychodrama. The Phychodrama-free-zone was
instituted from the beginning as a desire for people to relax and do
(or not do) whatever they please.
***No tight schedules. Go to faire if you want, or don't. Make gate,
or don't. Stay till closing, or don't. sleep all weekend if you
want. Go out with ambision if you want, but don't make other people
do it too, if it's not their idea of relaxation.
***You can't have a room to yourself. I will do my best to match up
people for rooming assignments that can hopefully not annoy each
other in the same room. We only have 10 rooms. 5 of them are with
one double bed, 4 of them have 2 beds, 1 has 3 beds. All have their
own bathroom. If you want your own bedroom, there are dorm rooms
avail on the 2nd floor, but you have to share a hall bathroom with
wierd transients that stay there, too.

Date: 27 Jun 2004 20:51 (UTC):sigh: How 'bout this...be aware that I'm considering it. The time off might be an issue as well, seeing as I just zapped all my vacation time for FSG, and still have to negotiate the time I need for GenCon...
But I'm thinking about it.
