In reponse to Iraqis being tortured . . . everytime I hear someone claim that "it was a few bad apples" or it was "an isolated case" . . . I am very thankful that an organization as reputable as the Intl. Red Cross can consistently respond with "no, it wasn't, abuse was widespread and systematic and we've been telling you about it for over a year now, dumbass." Ok, maybe "dumbass" wasn't in the official report, but it should've been.

if there's one thing that this news item has done, its gotten rid of bush's last bit of war support among the undecided. all of those who were going "i'm against the war, but i support our troops" are now asking "what was it i was supporting again?"

yeah, these may be MPs, not standard grunts, but the average "i support our troops" idjut isn't gonna know the difference.

in the end, it means not only are many troops over there being nothing but targets for random bombings, but now as in 'nam, the home front's really going to care less and less about them...
