17 January 2003 10:11Your SaniTest(TM) Results
Your score is:123
For easier understanding, the HPLHS SaniTest assessment algorithm converts your raw score to a scale of 1 to 10. This number is your INSANITY INDEX.
INSANITY INDEX 6.73 Thank you for taking the SaniTest(TM). Your score indicates that you are totally unhinged. It seems likely that the rational parts of your mind are completely separated both from your emotions, and from all practical views of reality. You should beware of overreacting to situations, and you might want to get a few opinions before investing in real estate. Others who scored at this level include mime sensations Shields & Yarnell and serial killer Ted Bundy.

Date: 22 Jan 2003 21:56 (UTC)I'm relatively new to Chicago, and have been feeling relatively antisocial since I got here. The more I learn about Chicago, the more dismal of a city it seems to be, which I think you may understand, but there's a twist of ludicrousness in that assessment. After all, reality is what you make of it, and if I choose to live in a dismal Chicago that I'm miserable in, then I have no one to blame but myself.
So, I broke out everyone's friend Google, asked for "chicago discordian," and somewhere in there, I found this (http://www.fantasymaps.com/stuff/karl.html). 23's all over the place--Chicago, Twin Cities (where I moved here from), D.C. (where I plan to move to next, though it will not be for a few years), stumbling onto Discordianism, a recommended reading list, half of which I've read (and I don't read much at all), and you make maps for a living. I'm a touch of a map geek myself--I haven't made a job out of it, but if it's indicative of anything, my stepmother gave me a subscription to Mercator's World for my birthday.... And then, whaddya know, you do livejournal. Hmmmmmmmm........
Of course, the meaning that changes things from coincidence to synchronicity is the fact that my whole reason for the search was to pull myself out of this mental isolation I've put myself in under the notion that I have little common ground with most people. The fact that you're a Discordian from Chicago wasn't surprising--that was the google search, after all--but few Discordians use it as part of a more cohesive spiritual practice. That in and of itself would have been adequate, but then add Minnesota, Washington, Livejournal and mondo map geeking, and my head started to spin. So, here I am....
