I work for the Natural Resources Conservation Service within USDA - Most of the maps at http://www.nrcs.usda.gov/technical/land/ are mine. We do work documenting environmental trends, targetting conservation programs, and trying to determine if those conservation programs are doing any good.
I hate those quiet periods. Makes me worry that the customer will think they don't need me anymore, and that I'll get laid off again. (Amazing how paranoid one gets if that's ever happened, even once.)
I am hopefully also coming out of a quiet period here. Got a couple of tasks today - yay!! There's only so much Harry Potter fanfic one can read or write...
