Book update
10 January 2003 14:04Since I know certain people on my friends list obsess over books I thought I'd put up a book update.
Recently read:
Last Call by Tim Powers - very interesting book about a magical struggle set in Las Vegas.
Mort and Equal Rites by Terry Pratchett - continuing to catch up on early Discworld books, always fun. Small Gods is still my favorite though.
Currently reading:
Blue Moon by Laural K. Hamilton - continuing to make my way through the Anita Blake books, quite enjoying them.
The Journals of Lewis and Clark (the new National Geographic abridged version) - bought this for myself and find it fascinating, especially as they are journeying through areas I've been or lived.
Recent acquisitions/to be read:
The White Raven by Diana Paxton - a retelling of Tristan and Iseult - I've always been a sucker for Arthurian stories.
Mars Crossing by Geoffrey Landis - a hard SF story about Mars, recommended by Amazon
The Land of Laughs by Jonathon Carroll - I've had folks harassing me to read Jonathon Carroll for quite some time now, so this is where I'm starting.
Lion's Blood by Steven Barnes - I like Steven Barnes, I like alternate history books, seemed like a good choice.
Otherland series by Tad Williams -
liakela is reading these and enjoying them, will borrow when she's done.
Will continue borrowing Anita Blake books from
zammis until I finish them.
In other news working on tax stuff. Need to send the IRS some money next week.
New game purchases:
New Game of Thrones cards arrived yesterday, shared cards with
liakela and worked on making new decks.
Corsairs, Clippers, Union Pacific, and Apples to Apples #4 should arrive today or tomorrow.
Christmas acquisitions:
Carcassone: Hunters and Gatherers, Survival of the Witless (a game about obtaining tenure).
Ordered from SJG:
Chez Greek, more X-bugs, GURPS Vikings
