Last weekend I attended Games Club of Maryland's Game Days and played the following:

Atlantic Star, Bang dice game, Bruges, Forbidden Desert, Ginkgopolis, Kingdom Builder, Little Devils, Lords of Waterdeep (x3, once with expansion), Settlers of Catan, Smallworld, Splendor (x3), Stone Age, String Railway, Underground

Bruges - a very Euro-ish resource management game, it is card based, with each card having 6 different things you can do with it and many possible paths to victory, meaning lots of choices. I liked it quite a bit but could see it bogging down if playing with someone susceptible to analysis paralysis.

Forbidden Desert - a light co-op game very similar to Forbidden Island, which is by the same people. Find the hidden artifacts and get out before you're covered by sand. We won it easily, would like to try it sometime on a harder difficulty.

Ginkgopolis - a tile-based city building/resource management game, you get a basic choice of collecting resources, building up (which gets your points or bonuses making you better at future actions), or building out (which is kind of a mixture, expands the city and gets you some resources). Suffers from a confusingly written rule-book, but was fairly straightforward once figured out. Would play again.

Little Devils - a light trick-taking card game in which your trying to avoid tricks, player after the lead determines what cards are going to be playable/win the trick. It didn't grab me, play feels similar to Take 6 which I prefer.

Lords of Waterdeep - not sure how I avoided this one till now, but this is a popular fantasy themed worker placement/resource management game. You get quests and need to recruit the right combination of adventurers to complete them. Fun, but the quests vary wildly, I admit I like my worker placement games a little more tightly balanced than this. The expansion essentially adds more chaos which may be a good or bad thing depending on your play style.

Slendor - probably qualifies as the "hot" new game for the con, a simple set collection game, collect certain combinations of gems to collect nobles who are worth bonuses towards collecting higher prices nobles, the higher priced ones being worth victory points. First to 15 wins. It's quick and light, but the competition over the limited supply of both gems and nobles gives it some depth and the components are very nice.

String Railway - a rather unique game in which you are building railways using actual string. The "board" is an open table with string making the edge, small tile-like cards form the stations and can be placed anywhere, connecting the stations with your rail/string gets you points. Not a ton of depth to it, but definitely fun and makes you think spatially in a way that few games do.
