This might explain the slow but steady exodus of many of their old school designers into forming their own indie presses. Hopefully it won't affect their publishing arm too much, since they print for some other companies as well.
I'm guessing CCP's grand scheme is the migration of the tabletop titles into the online realm -- the whole WoD "Noun, the Adjective!" series is likely about to get "WoW-crafted" into "Vampire, the MMORPG!"
They're calling it a merger, but if you read the fine print it's pretty clear who is buying who. The CEO of CCP will be CEO of the new company called CCP with White Wolf as a wholly owned subsidiary.
CCP's EVE Online is something mortiseraphim - my S.O. - plays a lot of. It's actually pretty well done, for the most part. (All MMO's have flaws.) As a long-time White Wolf fan, I'm actually rather excited about this. If CCP's folks can take the WoD universe and craft with it something like what they've done with EVE, I'll pay to play it.
