For those in London
8 July 2005 09:42We should play a game of Mornington Crescent. As always I use the Discordian rules. Thanks to Fuzz for the suggestion.
For the opening move in this 7/7/2005 memorial game:
Tavistock Square
Edit: Wow, I didn't expect this caliber of play. I lost my Internet connection shortly after starting the game and I finally get back to see championship level moves. Well done all.

Date: 8 Jul 2005 23:36 (UTC)At least four moves in this branch have gone against Title 8 of the 3rd Edition ("Red Book") of Olson's Standard Book of British Mornington Crescent. I realize that Title 15 of that same tome allows certain elements of this unconventional play, but I believe that combining them all together ignores the spirit of Title 15, if not the downright words on the page.
Rather than advising a backtrack interlocking to the last proper move, I'll just signal a correct move to get us moving again in the forward direction.
Maintaining a Green Line and Zoneless, I invoke a long jump and interrupt with...
14th Street-Union Square
However, I do this move with the condition that no other player invoke South Ferry at this point, since we all know that causes the Bowling Green Shuttle Loop Paradox (see note 1). Since the BGSLP is one (of many) issue that the various standards committees cannot agree on a resolution for, I must declare my move void if someone chooses to cause it anyway. If my move is declared void, I will go with...
Hmm...
Zoneless, Blue, North America...
Aquarium
I now withdraw my previous declaration concerning Home System Advantage. This forces the next player to return to the London Map for the next play. Keep in mind that the next play (except in certain circumstances) must come from a Zone above "3" and a line depicted in a primary color. It also cannot start with a vowel. See the Red Book, Title 21, Section 18.
Note 1: Of course if they hadn't closed 18th Street Station this would be a moot point. But since I haven't seen a game declaration of time nor space, I have to assume real time and real space. Therefore Bowling Green IS... and 18th Street ISN'T.
