Why did I not know about Breendoggle before today? I mean yes, it was before I was born, but considering Marion Zimmer Bradley's stature in fandom I would've thought I'd have come across her defending child rape before now. Links to MZB's testimony, which is pretty damning are here. Discovered thanks to this article and MZB's daughter's response. Thanks to andrewducker for the link. Rather upsetting stuff to put it mildly.

I know about the overall issue because it was brought up by a lot of people when the SCA was fighting that nasty lawsuit a few years ago but I wasn't aware of this specific incident. But if it weren't for the SCA connection I would never have heard about any of it.

I knew about Breen. I thought it was pretty common knowledge in fandom. MZB herself I didn't know.
