Good bye to Cornwall, on to the second part of our trip seeing Somerset and Wiltshire, but first a drive across Dartmoor. Michele's pictures.

Leaving Cornwall we have daylight, so take a somewhat more scenic way back - going through a few villages in the Tamar Valley and then striking out across the heart of Dartmoor. The landscape is similar to Bodmin moor, complete with ruins, both ancient and from mining, just much, much larger. Since we have a long drive we don’t stop much, just a few times for photos - it is beautiful country. For lunch we stop at the somewhat infamous Warren House Inn - really in the middle of nowhere and haunted - also with a fire in the fireplace that’s been burning since 1845. Anyway their food is excellent, one of our best meals of the trip. I have what’s probably the longest sausage I’ve ever seen (that’s what she said), amused because as served it forms a berm between the chips and the beans, nice. I figure some of you might appreciate the Otter poster, I actually have an Otter and it is tasty. Michele appreciates the rabbit themed decorations.
Thus fortified we continue on our way and it really doesn’t take us all that long to cross the moor, I was expected a little twisty road, but it’s actually a good road and before we know it we’re back to driving on highways. The rest of the drive is uneventful, get around Bristol without any trouble and arrive in our home for the rest of our stay in Devizes. We arrive in time to do a quick grocery run and have a dinner of pasta in. After the somewhat dumpy cottage in Cornwall the apartment we have here is wonderful. It’s small, but nicely furnished, with a modern shower, and oh, a comfy bed! Also laundry, we were a little afraid to attempt laundry in the Cornwall place and so do it here, yay for clean clothes. Oh, and Britain, there’s been this nifty invention called the dryer, you should really check it out some time.
