Are you Virginians tired of not knowing whether you live in the "North" or the "South"? Worry no longer, it all depends on sweet tea and now thankfully the critical "Sweet Tea Line" has been mapped. http://eightoverfive.com/SweetTea.swf

The McD's data is quite out of date.

The "best fit" line appears at first glance to be a reasonable approximation of the James River -- and the saying in the early 20th century was "Below the James Lies Dixie" so I'm not really surprised.

Considering I know and love sweet tea and live in Maryland... it's all foofy. I stay with the Mason Dixon Line as the Maryland-Pennsylvania line circa 1767!

Hmmmm -- the sweet tea line runs somewhat further south than I thought.

I still insist in my purely anectdotal way that I find it easier to get unsweet tea further south than around here. sure, all the mcd's here get unsweet tea but few other places do (most having the "advanced tea substitute" hfcs/lemon(or raspberry) crap on fountain). at grocery stores, only wegmans regularly carries unsweet pre-packaged anywhere.

but driving into Atlanta or Pensacola and i find unsweet almost everywhere.

the Mickey's data is definitely out of date. They don't show sweet tea availability in Loudoun, and I know for a fact I get some for my daughter all the damned time at the one just down the street from us.

Proof that the south is, indeed, rising again?
