Other than my father I don't think you would know any of them. It was zpenguin's post here that made it hit home. In addition to those she lists my step father lost his sister this week.
One of my coworkers is leaving this evening to fly to India, to spread his father's ashes in a couple of places, in accordance with his father's last wishes. I had to cut my conversation short with him - my own father's death didn't have that kind of closure, and I couldn't keep talking with him. It was too tough.
