Thanks to everyone that joined us Saturday, much food was eaten, much wine was drunk, many games were played. Was especially good to see [livejournal.com profile] queenmaggie and Richard before they make their move to Florida. Gaming dominated the evening and games played included: Acquire, Caribbean, Ligretto, Munchkin (I think it was Munchkin Impossible blended with Munchkin Cthulhu, but I wasn't playing), Puerto Rico, Quarto, Set, and Settlers of Catan (with and without Cities and Knights).

Now - 3 days till Scotland!

Glad to hear it was a good time. I would have tried to make it out there (it's been a while), but my in-laws are visiting (they're still at our place, but will be gone before I get home from work).

…big surprise…

Have you tried Munchkin Cthulhu yet? We thought that it was kind of weak, compared to the other ones (I don't think we've played all the way to level ten yet; we've always ended because of unanimous Cultist membership). I think it might work better with more cards (I haven't gotten the expansion yet, although we did try it mixed in with a completely different Munchkin set) and more people (with just Munchkin Cthulhu by itself, I don't think we've had more than three people yet).

Munchkin is one of those games that just about everyone knows, and few people object to (my wife, for instance, doesn't like Chez Geek or Fluxx), so it gets a lot of play at our game nights. The best we can do to avoid burnout is to rotate which version we play. We have picked up a few new games recently that are catching on, though, so we can cut back on Munchkin some more. (And we still haven't had the time/people to crack open the Order of the Stick game yet.)

That's just it; for the first time, at least, I want to schedule it in advance to make sure we have the right time and people. The first time playing a game like that is always hardest, as you work out the kinks in the rules and play style and so forth. And then, once a small group of us have tested it and worked it out, I'll be more comfortable springing it on other people.

Or, I could just bring it to Shore Leave and whip it out after we've all had our fill of my infmous punch...

We played a blender game on Saturday with Munchkin Cthulu and Munchkin Impossible.

It might have worked well *because* we did a blender set, but I thought it was kinda cool...

Thanks, K, for having us over! It was great!
