New Orleans report

zammis and I had a fabulous time in New Orleans. Arrived late Thursday night. Friday we met up with enorton23 and rainstorm70 for breakfast and lunch. I've known them for quite awhile on-line and it was great to get to meet them in person. *wave* In the evening we were joined by hexar_le_saipe, sporksoma, and stealthmunchkin, who I met last year. We had dinner and wandered about town and visited a skanky strip club and fun was had, though no international incidents to report. It was a bit warm for some of us.

While not meeting up with groovy Discordian types we had fun being tourists. I got my dose of history at the Cabildo, I found the colonial era history fascinating. We went on a swamp tour and saw many alligators, one of which I got to hold for awhile, his name was Elvis :-) Also went on a ghost tour with the theory that we should support one of the few jobs available to goths. zammis got a gleam in her eye when our tour guide mentioned that he also did pirate re-enanactments *grin*. Hurricanes were drunk. We went to a non-skanky strip club. Sunday we bought souveniours, had a last bowl of gumbo, and headed home.
