weekend update

Had a good weekend. byronczimmer, principia_coh, selki, and some local high schoolers joined me for gaming. We played Citadels, Cowpoker, and the Order of the Stick boardgame. Cowpoker is a light trick taking game which will take more plays to figure out, not sure if I like it or not. Order of the Stick felt like an improved version of Hack! - probably the best dungeon crawl type board game I've seen in awhile - though it may still be too long for what it is. We did miss a major rule that might have spend it up a little (the characters without players are supposed to tag along as NPCs to help in battles) so would like to play it again.

After gaming stuck around to listen to Celtic music and met up with shadowfaewulfe and darkshadus, was nice to see them again. After that I watched Muppets :-)

I second that sentiment! You just made my day by letting me know that OOTS is a board game. :-D

After that I watched Muppets :-)

Always fun! See kinksville...other people besides me like the Muppets! You really should give them another chance. *grins mischievously*

I'd like to try Cowpoker sometime; couldn't get a feel for the gameplay from the website.

It just came out at GenCon, where a friend got me the copy we played at Beans in the Belfry. I'm writing more about it in an entry now.
