2005 in review
3 January 2006 12:31ok, so I've had a look at my own archives to see what happened to 2005 and can now offer some highlights and ruminations.
Jan: Hosted the first Brunswick Games Day and the response was far beyond what I suspected. This was the first con-type planning I'd done since high school and am glad it went so well. Here's to hoping this year's is just as good.
Feb: Google Maps launched - can you believe it's been less than a year? Katsucon - may only non-gaming convention, was pretty marginal, if I go again this year it'll just be to flirt with
squireliz.
Mar: I got to meet my new nephew. Also launched GCOM-Brunswick.
Apr: GCOM's spring convention - gaming conventions this year I focused less on pimping various companies games and more on playing what I actually wanted to play and had a lot more fun as a result. Also gaming related I tried doing a regular LARP the first time since moving from Oregon with the College Park Changeling LARP, it was fun, but College Park was just too far to go on Fridays so I didn't stick with it all that long - sorry folks.
June: Free Sprit Gathering - was involved in planning a Pagan track of events for the first time and thought we did a pretty good job, not something I think I'll do regularly though. I think I'll stick to offering one, maybe two workshops at the most.
July: There are more Mussers in Maryland. Also a new planet is discovered! Woot. Sadly still doesn't have a name though.
Aug: Katrina.
Sep: Serenity. More games at TCEP.
Sep-Oct: I feel like I skipped faire this year, even though I think I was there more than in 2004. Maybe it was doing a lot of partial days or because most of them were too hot and sticky for me to really enjoy.
Oct: Spamalot rocked. Intercon - ok, but not really my thing. Also Healing the Spirit which reminded me to look into doing more pastoral care type ministering to the Pagan community.
Nov: Mom visits. More games at Euroquest.
Dec: Relaxing in Saint Lucia.
Other thoughts: Was a good year for concerts including: Dead Can Dance, Tempest, Wolfstone, Seven Nations, Thea Gilmore, Enter the Haggis, and Coyote Run.
Spent much time and energy supporting
zammis and feel all that much closer to her. She's awesome. Very much looking forward to living together in 2006.
Still worried about my father, no improvement there, hope to see him more often this coming year.
