movie review

For those of you that like weird movies, you know who you are, I highly recommend The City of Lost Children - it is absolutely whacked. Sort of a combination of A Series of Unfortunate Events and Brazil, only more surreal. The setting is very steampunkish. I won't attempt to describe the plot, but I will tell you that all the characters are either a) children, b) carnival workers, or c) insane - makes for a great combination. Those of you that like your movies to make sense may want to skip it though.

A reminder that next Tuesday Sam and I are going to the Burlesque at the Birchmere, we'd be glad to have some folks join us. Also next weekend I'll be hosting gaming in Brunswick on the 18th, also going on is Katsucon (which I doubt I'll make due to gaming and liakela's move). I'll be in Chicago the weekend of the 25th for a family wedding. At the end of the month prices go up for GCOM Game Days and Balticon (note Neil Gaiman goodness for Balticon), both of which I'm planning on attending.
