kmusser: (Info whores)
So, my latest geeky undertaking has been to compile a list of what books I've read.
So far the list is just fiction - and really just novels, though some other stuff snuck in.
Thanks to the awesome site at http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/ for being my supplemental memory, though I'm sure there's still quite a few I've forgetten - especially stuff read before college.

The List

At some point I'll add some ratings or commentary so you can tell which of those I actually liked.
Feel free to make recommendations on good stuff I've missed out on.

Places I go to find new stuff I'll probably like include [livejournal.com profile] kbuxton's recommendations and the Hugo and Nebula winners.
kmusser: (Gaming)
Gaming went very well, I think I'll move it to Saturdays regularly, will aim for August 27th for the next one (yes, it's the first day of faire, but the first day is almost always too hot for me to deal with faire anyway).

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] liakela, [livejournal.com profile] allura, [livejournal.com profile] unitzero, [livejournal.com profile] byronczimmer, [livejournal.com profile] principia_coh, [livejournal.com profile] daehith, [livejournal.com profile] bakkerkid, and the LJ-less Doug for coming out to play games.

I finally got to try out Shadows over Camelot and quite liked it. It's a cooperative game kind of like the Lord of the Rings game. You all play the knights of king Arthur and go off on quests to fight evil - we got ourselves soundly thrashed (killed by Morgan in fact).

After that we played Junta and I was El Presidente for life for most of the game. I was too generous though and [livejournal.com profile] byronczimmer ended up socking away the most money in his Swiss bank account.
