Act locally
2 December 2004 15:23Recently we've been reading all sorts of stories about school boards doing things like banning evolution or Harry Potter or whatever crazy things the fundies tell them to do.
Locally in Montgomery County, Maryland, which oversees lots of schools, we're fortunate to have a school board that is relatively intelligent and is willing to ignore such idiocy.

washingtondc someone has pointed out an effort to recall the board to correct this (in this case it's because the board has dared to suggested that it might be ok to be gay).
If you live in Montgomery county please take some time to write the board and your state officials to tell them you appreciate the job they are doing. The fundies have conveniently provided the links to do so on their web page.
