I'm reading Sherri Tepper's Gibbon's Decline and Fall. It's really kind of eerie reading a book about a fundamentalist attempt to take over the U.S. written in 1996. Many of the passages could've come straight from current events - "People will believe anything if you repeat it often enough."

I don't know that I've read that book but I've read a lot of Tepper's stuff. The one thing that gets me about all her books is that she's always got a cause. I'm happy to hear she's moved away from rabid male hate though - that was getting real old real fast.

OOOoh, I love that book. I think I've read almost everything that Ms. Tepper ever wrote. (Tho there's some early stuff that's hard to find.) She is an amazing writer. Enjoy!
