Played lots and lots of games at GCOM's Games Days this weekend including:
Aladdin's Dragons, Amun Re, Blokus, Carcassone, Fearless Floors, Genial, Guillotine, Hamlet, Hell Rail, Igor, In the Shadow of the Emperor, Kahuna, Keythedral, Kung Fu Fighting, Munchkin, Puerto Rico, Rheinlander, Saint Petersburg, Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride - Europe, Witch Hunt, and I'm probably forgetting a few. Descriptions of these can be found at Boardgamegeek, but I'll offer mini-reviews of my own if asked.
Comments on a few of them:
Ticket to Ride - Europe is a Ticket to Ride with a new board, it is slightly crunchier than the original.
In the Shadow of the Emperor is a truly crunchy game that no one will likely play with me, but I bought anyways because I couldn't help it. Emperor is referring to the Holy Roman Emperor and it's a political game. The board is made up of electorates which the players are vying for control of. Each electorate than gets to vote for the Emperor. There are lots and lots of choices of what to do.
Blokus is sort of like a multi-player Tetris, which Sam's Mom would really like.
With Hunt is a similar theme but not as good (IMHO) as Cheapass' Witch Trial.
Also picked up St. Petersburg and the Carcassone expansions that I didn't have yet.
PS: I avoided the computer over the weekend, and there's no way I'm keeping up with everything y'all wrote.
