a new map

So its been a bit since I did any maps for fun, there has been business, but today I had a lazy day and got a new one done. Since the release of the awesome National Hydrography Dataset I have access to much more detailed stream data than I used to, and I decided small streams deserve some love too. So here is my map of Tuscarora Creek, by far the smallest stream I've mapped. The stream has a sad little wiki article, maybe the map will encourage some expansion.

That's very cool! I especially like the juxtaposition of Carrollton Manor and the aluminum plant. I know Carroll fils and the family's attitude toward isolation and quiet, so the thought of their having had to endure an industrial facility nearby is.. humourous. :-)

Could you do one of the Des Plaines River going both directions from Big Bend?

Sure, not sure how detailed I can get - for roads I only have highways, not city streets, but I'll do two, one for the whole river, it's wikipedia article needs a map anyway, and one for the Big Bend area.
