Saw Two Towers last night and it is awesome.

Wows:
Even more so than the first movie the imagery is simply stunning. You ARE in Middle-Earth.

I thought Gollum was extremely well done. For that matter all the "critters" were all really cool: wargs, ents, fell beasts, oliphaunts

The fight scenes are awesome; Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli all kick ass .

The healing of Theoden. Wow.

Nitpicks:

Overall the movie strayed from the books alot more than the first movie, for the most part I didn't think this really hurt the movie, but in places it seemed odd.

The ents while, while cool, were different than I've always imagined them. I've thought of them as mostly trunk, while in the movie they are mostly legs. Also Treebeard seems downright hasty. And he doesn't know what Saruman's doing to his forest till Pippin shows him? That's not right.

The fabricated near-death experience for Aragorn struck me as weird. It's a significant addition to the plot of the books and didn't really seem to serve a purpose. Though I was glad they found an excuse to get wargs in.

The change in Faramir was the main thing I didn't like. He's a character I really like in the book and the movie turns him into a clone of Boromir. *sigh*
The scenes in Ithilien after Frodo meets Faramir take another significant departure from the book, but I won't go into details here.

Other changes:
Aragorn and Arwen's relationship, not the solid rock it is in the book - I suppose done so they can make Aragorn and Eowyn's relationship more interesting. Also sets it up so that Arwen might have a more active role in the third movie than she does in the book.
Elrond sends a bunch of elves instead of the other rangers - odd change, doesn't really make any difference in terms of plot.

The movie ends before the book does, moving the last few chapters to Return of the King.
