This is the long overdue update.

Got back from spending a week in London with the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] zammis. Had a fabulous time.

London sights included the Victoria & Albert Museum, Westminster Abbey, Kensengton Gardens, Harrods, several walking tours, and many pubs.
York sights included the Minster, the Castle Museum, the Shambles, and a pub.
Greenwich sights included the Royal Observatory, the Maritime Museum, the Cutty Sark, and of course a pub.

The geographer in me enjoyed getting to stand on the prime meridian.
The best pub award goes to Chimes, a cider bar in Chelsea, truly excellent ciders and good food too. The Plume of Feathers in Greenwich is the runner up.

Sadly we missed meeting up with [livejournal.com profile] stealthmunchkin, but we did find our tranplanted McArghs in York and had fun spending a rather rainy day with them.

Back on Halloween I did make it to the wedding of [livejournal.com profile] sporksoma and Hexar (where I did meet [livejournal.com profile] stealthmunchkin) and had a great time. Sporksoma even has pictures (or is that blackmail material?). Sadly I left my Tevas in the hotel, will need to buy a new pair.

My next trip coming up is to the Midwest for Christmas (Dec. 20-25, will be hitting St. Charles, Missouri and Chicago).

To the family: Lisa and I are thinking of ideas for a website to supplement to round robin letter. Possibilities include a Live Journal like format for each family to post updates and a place for pictures. Any ideas or comments would be welcome.

On the gaming front, still doing our regular Friday night games. We are playing tonight, though I don't expect many due to the snow and conflicting events.
There are playtesting opportunities for anyone interesting. Ethan has his Screw the Workers games - we tentatively have a playtest planned for this Sunday. I also have a 2 player wargame that needs testing (looks simple, set during the American Revolution), and Rachel has this idea of turning a friends very wrong RPG into a card game.

I will be at Evecon running games, including X-bugs!

I've been hankering to get back into role-playing, maybe after the holidays I'll try and start something up. Let me know if you'd be interested, and if so want kind of game you'd be interested in.

There is lots going on this Saturday. I'll be at the McArgh party, but cool things I'll be missing are Cerridwin's (Green Crown is playing), the Al Petteway and Amy White concert just down the block from me, and for you Discordians, the DC Santarchy event.

To my friends from the mailing lists - sorry I've been out of touch. As always, feel free to harrass me via AIM.
