My sympathies for those in London, fortunately my friends there have reported in safe.
In more pleasant news, but keeping with the English theme, I've finished reading The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory and thought it was excellent. Tells the story of Anne Boleyn from the viewpoint of her sister Mary. Highly recommended, especially to all you MDRF fans. Reminds me I should read historical fiction more often.

Date: 7 Jul 2005 20:11 (UTC)I don't expect historical fiction to be strictly factual anyway, if I wanted that I'd read a history (which sometimes I do). What I really like is good story and good portrayal of the setting, both of which I think Gregory did very well.
It does make Anne quite a bit nastier than I've seen in other portrayals.
