Long overdue update
22 April 2003 15:27This is going to be a long ass post as I'm putting a months worth of stuff into one post.
I'm slowly beginning the house hunting process. A couple of weeks ago I went to look at my first house. I'm not likely to actually buy anything until fall at the earliest, more probably next year. I'm currently looking in and around Brunswick, Maryland because they have lots of cool older houses and they're cheap, and my commute would still be roughly an hour. The house I looked at was a beautiful 5 bedroom Victorian in good condition going for $190,000.
The Saturday before last we celebrated
zammis's birthday and much fun was had by all. Happy birthday
zammis!
The new AFI theatre opened downed the road from me and I went in to take a peek and it looks very cool. Their PDF schedule is here. If anyone is interested in joining me in watching old movies just let me know.
Went to Rafe's on Wednesday to celebrate Passover, McArgh style, which was quite enjoyable. May have the record for fastest Seder ever *grin*. Just for the record, no I'm not Jewish. So if I'm a Pagan that was raised Catholic, why am I celebrating a Jewish holiday? I don't know either, go ask Eris. Like I need an excuse to drink more wine.
Speaking of religion, I've been attending Pagan classes by Elspeth and Nybor of Haven, which have been very good. They definitely seem to know what they are talking about and I look forward to doing more stuff with them in the future.
My housemate,
liakela still hasn't been able to find work and has been pretty down. Wish I could do more for her. Please send good vibes her way. And if any of you hear of job leads in video or radio production send those her way too.
Tomorrow I'm going with
zammis to see Cirque du Soleil's Dralion show. Yay me!
As I mentioned, this weekend I'll be in Chicago. I'll be attending OPCON a convention I helped to start, and meeting old H.S. friends. I'll also get to spend more time with my father, which is a good thing. For those that don't know, my father had a very close brush with death in the fall of 2001. Since then he has mostly recovered, other than having to carry a pharmacy around with him, and he went back to work 2 months ago. I haven't gotten a chance to spend much time with him since his recovery, so I'm looking forward to it.
The weekend after that I'm going to FSA's Beltane with
zammis and
kalkail, which I am also looking forward to.
I probably won't post again till after that, so I'll give everyone a Happy Beltane now. Be sure to celebrate appropriately.
