I found your LJ through fantasy maps 101. Offhand, do you know of any maps that are fantasy like and more whimsical in nature? I'm looking for some inspiration for a map I will be doing in a web project.
No, not really - most of the one's I can think of online are for role-playing games and so are designed so that you could use them to navigate and be sort-of realistic. For books you might try seeking out the Dictionary of Imaginary Places by Alberto Manguel and Gianni Guadalupi one of the most fanciful is the one from the Oz books. There is an online map of Oz here though there's a nicer one in the Dictionary.
