Some follow-up links, as usual from [livejournal.com profile] andrewducker:
What the protesters are protesting - with charts - essentially the lack of jobs and low wages of the jobs that do exist. Doesn't really go too much into the how we got that way though, for that what's wrong with the economy and how to fix it. Also a very nice personal essay about class, sparked a lot of thoughts for me, if I find time I'll write some of my own experiences of class differences.

Thank you for posting the link to the essay on class. I've not gotten all the way through it, I had to stop and write something down.

I read the Tiger Beatdown essay (it's on my RSS reader) earlier today before I saw him link to it so I feel all cool now ;) I think it's an incredibly strong piece; there's lots of good stuff going on there lately and for anyone who doesn't read it otherwise I would recommend checking it out (it's recently reached its third "birthday" so there's a sort of "What Tiger Beatdown Is" entry around there which would be good for seeing if it's the kind of thing a person would be interested in).

Thank you for the essay... though-provoking and a little bit troubling in the right way...

I liked the last two links.

On my LJ I've written my own reflection of the crisis, but now that I read that, I wonder and worry that I did it because I was classist. Maybe I am. I think I am also just looking for power over the situation.
